Yun Shouping(1633-1690),born Yun Ge,was a native of Wujin, Jiangsu Province. He had a number of aliases among which the best known is Yun Nantian. He followed the meigu (boneless) method of painting practised by Xu Chongsi of Northern Song, paid great attention to sketching and painting from nature,and had a preference for light, smooth and bright colours. He began by doing landscapes but later turned to flower painting. Later generations regard him as one of the six foremost painters of the Qing Dynasty (the other five were Wang Shimin, Wang Jian, Wang Hui, Wang Yuanqi and Wu Li).
  恽寿平,初名格,字寿平,后以字行,改字正叔,号南田、东园客、白云外
史等,江苏武进人。学北宋画家徐崇嗣“没骨法”而重视写生,往往用水墨淡
彩,清润明丽。初工山水,后作花卉。后人把他与王时敏、王鉴、王辉、王原
祁、吴历合称“清六家”。
